What can I use my Betfred free bet on this weekend?

This weekend sees returning Premier League action including Liverpool vs Manchester City plus a full EFL programme, flat racing from Newmarket, NFL Week 5 including Philadelphia Eagles vs Jacksonville Jaguars in London, and UFC Fight Night Allen vs Duncan from The Meta APEX, Las Vegas – all from Friday 9th October through till Monday 12th October 2026.

This weekend sees Gameweek 6 of the Premier League season with six televised games, however Friday 9th October on Sky Sports features the EFL Championship at 8pm with West Ham vs Queens Park Rangers from the London Stadium. The last time these two played a league game against each other was in 2015 in the Premier League. That was on the 25th April 2015 which ended in a 0–0 draw at Loftus Road. Let’s hope for better this Friday night.

The Premier League television action then kicks off on Saturday 10th October. 12:30pm sees TNT Sports broadcasting Arsenal vs Leeds United at the Emirates Stadium. You’d expect this to be a comfortable home win with the Gunners unbeaten in five Premier League home matches, winning all five, heading into Saturday’s game against Leeds who to their credit are unbeaten so far in the Premier League this season. 5:30pm on Sky Sports then sees Manchester United vs Tottenham at Old Trafford. Across 34 Premier League games at Old Trafford, Manchester United have won 25, Tottenham 5, with 4 draws. That’s a 15% win rate for Spurs who go into this game bottom of the table and winless. This could be just the match for beleaguered Manchester United manager Michael Carrick.

Sunday 11th October sees an early Championship match on ITV1 and Sky Sports – the south coast derby Southampton vs Portsmouth from St Mary’s Stadium. These two sides fought-out 0-0 and 1-1 draws last season, so expect another close, fiery derby clash. 2pm then sees 2 simultaneous Premier League matches on Sky Sports channels. Crystal Palace vs Nottingham Forest on Sky Sports Main Event looks like a tight match. Nottingham Forest play better on the road than they do at the City Ground, whilst Palace have conceded 7 goals and lost both home matched at Selhurst Park so far this season. Hull City vs Everton on Sky Sports Football is a big game for Hull as 3 points at their MKM Stadium would be a huge signal that Premier League survival is go in East Yorkshire.

After the Premier League starter sees the main course in the form of Liverpool vs Manchester City at Anfield – kick-off is at 4:30pm. The task for Enzo Maresca and his Manchester City side is immense. City have played 29 Premier League matches at Anfield, winning 3, losing 18, with 8 draws. That’s a 10.3% win rate. Erling Haaland is expected to play – he scored (who else) an injury time winner here last season in a famous 2-3 victory.

Monday 12th October sees Premier League action live on Sky Sports Main Event with an 8pm kick-off in the shape of Coventry City vs Newcastle United. Magpies fans must be getting tired of Monday night away games after losing to Leeds United in their last Monday away match in September. Frank Lampard will have his Sky Blues side pumped up for this one, especially after they won their first Premier League game of this season prior to the international break, beating Nottingham Forest 1-0 at the City Ground.

ITV Racing covers the Dubai Future Champions Festival from Newmarket from Friday 9th October to Saturday 10th October. Both Friday’s and Saturday’s racing is live on ITV1. The Darley Dewhurst Stakes is on Saturday at 3pm – a race for 2 year-olds over 7 furlongs and is worth £284,000 to the winner. Aidan O’Brien is sending over a number of runners for the Dewhurst including Great Barrier Reef and a potential favourite Darkness Falls. However, Charlie Appleby’s Desert Castle (William Buick) is the likely short-priced favourite after a dazzling win in the Champagne Stakes at Doncaster last month. Saturday also sees the Club Godolphin Cesarewitch Handicap (3:40pm) over a stretching 2 mile, 2 furlong trip. This famous Handicap sees a huge entry with Irish raiders Cock And Bull (James Doyle), Reverend Hubert (Kieran Shoemark) and Dawn Rising (Ryan Moore) being bolstered by a Willie Mullins entry for Highwind. Ian Williams-trained Beylerbeyi (Billy Loughnane) is the likely favourite along with James Owen 4 year-old Kirchner (Rossa Ryan) looking the best chances for the UK.

Friday’s Newmarket big race is the 2:57pm Fillies’ Mile. Musical Times (William Buick) is the short-priced favourite for Charlie Appleby, with Rogue Passion (Rossa Ryan) for Edward Bethell likely second favourite. Aidan O’Brien sends over Haven (Ryan Moore) and Exceptionally (Colin Keane) from Ballydoyle. The 3:30pm Old Rowley Cup Handicap is also a well backed race in the flat calendar. The 2026 renewal sees Godolphin runner Study of Words (William Buick) the likely favourite, with Archers Bay (Ryan Moore) and Devil’s Peak (James Doyle) visible at the top of the betting market.

Betfred will be running their “Super Extra Places” promotion on the Godolphin Lifetime Care Oh So Sharp Stakes (Friday) + Club Godolphin Cesarewitch Handicap (Saturday) from Dubai Future Champions Festival at Newmarket on ITV Racing. Betfred will be offering extra places instead of industry standard on bets placed respectively on the day of the race.

Weekend horse racing fixtures across the UK and Ireland are:

  • Friday 9th October: Chepstow (Jumps), Kempton Park, Newmarket, York.
  • Saturday 10th October: Chepstow (Jumps), Hexham (Jumps), Newmarket, Southwell, York.
  • Sunday 11th October: Chepstow (Jumps), Goodwood.
  • Monday 12th October: Kempton Park, Musselburgh, Newcastle, Worcester (Jumps), Yarmouth.

Case Study – How I Use Betfred By Paul Williams

I use Betfred for two distinct areas of betting: Lucky 15 bets on horse racing and also on golf.

For Lucky 15 betting there isn’t a better option out there that I’ve found over the years that I’ve been betting on horse racing. Most bookies offer some kind of consolation if you only get one leg of your Lucky bet up, however Betfred are by far the most generous with 3x bonus on Lucky 15s and 5x bonus on lucky 63s. Put into context, most other bookies offer at best 2x bonus on Lucky bets.

For golf they’re always one that I check before placing my bets, mainly because their odds compilers often take a contrarian view on some players than other bookmakers. There’s an awful lot of ‘copy and paste’ bookmakers on golf which leads to very consistent pricing across the board, however Betfred are one of the few bookies who will happily take a stance on a player which can result in better odds.

Betfred Maximum Payouts

One area that’s often overlooked when selecting which bookmaker to use is their maximum payout ceilings. The reason this matters is that each bookmaker sets their own daily limit by sport above which they won’t pay out any winnings, and these limits can and do vary massively.

Where this becomes relevant is typically for accumulator bets where small stakes can result in large payouts if you manage to get all legs correct. For horse racing this might be an each-way accumulator or lucky 15/31/63 type bet; for football this is more likely to be an 8- or 10-fold accumulator on the match result, for instance. Regardless of the style of bet, if you do hit the jackpot what you don’t want is to find that your winnings are capped simply because you placed your bet with the wrong bookmaker.

Here’s a summary of some key sports and Betfred’s maximum payouts compared with some others in the market:

SportBetfred Maximum PayoutWorst Maximum Payout
Premier League£1,000,000£250,000 (888 Sport)
UK Horse Racing£1,000,000£100,000 (Unibet)
PGA Tour Golf£500,000£100,000 (BetVictor)
Men’s ATP Tennis£100,000£75,000 (888 Sport)
NBA Basketball£100,000£50,000 (Paddy Power)
NFL American Football£100,000£50,000 (Paddy Power)

For a comprehensive overview of this topic read this excellent Betfred maximum payout guide.

Betfred Lucky 15 Bonuses

One area where Betfred really excel is in their bonus structure for Lucky 15, 31 and 63 bets. When it comes to gauging which bookmaker is best for Lucky 15 bets, there are two elements to consider:

  • 1 Winner ‘Consolation’ Bonus
  • 4 Winner Bonus

When it comes to Lucky 15 bets, Betfred lead the way for single winner consolation bonus terms, offering 3 times the odds for a solitary winner. Other bookmakers listed offer 2 times the odds, whereas others not listed offer nothing at all:

Bookmaker1 Winner Consolation4 Winner Bonus
Betfred3x Odds10% Bonus
William Hill2x Odds10% Bonus

For horse racing and greyhound punters who use the ‘Lucky’ permutation bets, using Betfred is undoubtedly a better option than most other bookmakers.

Betfred Acca Flex

Some bookmakers offer an accumulator bonus; others offer an accumulator insurance. Betfred, however, offer you BOTH, all wrapped up neatly in their ‘Acca Flex’ proposition.

In terms of an acca bonus, bonuses start for successful 5-folds with each leg at odds of 1/2 or longer. Winning 5-folds attract a 2.5% bonus, 6-folds a 10% bonus – all the way up to 12-folds or more that receive a whopping 50% bonus.

Ah, but there’s always that one team that lets me down, I hear you cry. Betfred have that covered too – for losing 5-folds or more where a solitary result lets you down, Betfred refund your stake up to £10. Can’t say fairer than that.

  • Acca Flex. Applies to pre-match football accumulators of 5+ selections on selected markets. Min odds 1/2 leg. 2.5%-50% cash bonus on settlement if all selections win. £10 max cash refund if one leg loses. Paid within 24hrs of bet settlement. Cashed Out/In-Play bets not applicable. T&Cs apply.

To make things even more flexible, Betfred don’t restrict this to just the straightforward match winner market either. Indeed the following markets all qualify: Match Result, Both Teams to Score, Match Result & Both Teams to Score, Half-Time/Full-Time, Total Goals Over/Under, Match Result & Total Goals Over/Under, Correct Score, Double Chance and 1st Half Over/Under.

Betfred Double Delight & Hat-Trick Heaven

One of Betfred’s unique propositions that’s stuck for a number of years now is Double Delight & Hat-Trick Heaven, and if you’re a first goalscorer punter then it’s an absolute must!

Each week Betfred nominate a series of matches that qualify for the promotion, ranging from top Premier League clashes to International fixtures, and on these matches there’ll be the following additional benefits:

  • If your selected player scores first, then goes on to bag a second goal then you’ll get paid out at double the odds.
  • If they go on to score a third, you’ll have your first goalscorer bet paid out at treble the odds – in cash!

This promotion has been so popular for Betfred, attracting many new punters over the years, that they’ve also recently applied the same principle to first tryscorer markets on selected Rugby matches too.

  • Football – Double Delight & Hat-trick Heaven: Only pre-match single bets placed on the specified DDHH first goalscorer market in selected games. Fulfilled in real cash and credited with settlement of the first goalscorer market. 90 mins only. Full T&Cs Apply.

Betfred Offers 2026 - How To Maximise

Betfred have always been well known in the online sports betting and gaming sector for being particularly generous when it comes to the size of their free bets and welcome bonuses. By offering new customer welcome promotions across Sportsbook, Casino, Games Bingo and Poker, there is a depth of coverage that few other brands can offer. All of these new customer promotions require promo codes when registering – that’s a situation which has long been the way with Betfred. Consistency of promotion and the way new customers access them, tells you a lot about the Betfred ethos of giving both new and existing customers the very best value when it comes to bonuses, promotions and on-going customer experience. But it also tells you a lot about Betfred and their core pledge of offering consistency in their welcome bonuses, ongoing sports promotions and gaming promotions. Here are some key aspects that it is important to understand about Betfred, in explaining why the Warrington based specialist are one of the fastest growing online sportsbooks. Read on, as these aspects are worth knowing before you open an account across any of their products.

Promo Code-Based New Customer Promotions

Betfred has always used promo codes across all of its new customer promotions. So whether you sign up to the Betfred Sportsbook free bet, or the Betfair Casino bonus, you will need to input the correct promo code to activate the advertised deal. All of the current Betfred promo codes required are available to view in the table at the top of this page.

The reason Betfred use promo codes is because whatever new customer deal is accessed, the individual has to register via a single ‘Registration’ page. So whether you sign-up to Betfred Sportsbook, Betfred Casino, Betfred Games, or any other Betfred products, the same initial customer data including Username and Password is entered when you register. Betfred then get the new customer to choose what new customer welcome promotion they want, via a promo code which is entered within the Promotion Code field.

So it’s absolutely imperative that you quote the correct promo code before agreeing to the Betfred Terms and Conditions and pressing the Register button. Betfred within their terms, state that failure to populate the Promotion Code field can see a new account being activated, with no welcome bonus being received, so take your time and be clear and what promo code you need.

New Product Promotions for All

Betfred are happy for existing customers to use all of their deposit bonuses available. The term ‘Brand New Customers Only,’ is something that you will not find in Betfred terms and conditions. So customers who originally sign-up via the Sportsbook free bet new customer promotion can then access the Betfred Casino Welcome Bonus and so on. It’s actively encouraged by the Warrington-based bookmaker, who simply want their customers to be satisfied and continue playing with them into the future.

Now this clarity of all free bets and promotions for each customer needs to be put in perspective. Free bets and welcome bonuses are nothing new. The online betting and gaming industry is awash with them, but what turns Betfred into the national power house they are is that their promotions are not only generous, but they are easy to use and are available to all. Plenty of Betfred’s rivals restrict their promotions for new customers to the first deal they sign-up to. So if you sign-up via a sports free bet and then weeks or months down the line want to play online casino with the same company, you won’t be able to access a casino welcome bonus.

Betfred Promo Code Football 2026/2027 Season

With the extended International Break finally in the rear-view mirror, the next phase of Premier League matches continues before we break again in November for thankfully just a week this time.

Manchester City topped the league heading into the first break with five wins from five, however with all the turmoil surrounding the club at present whether they can maintain that position remains to be seen. Arsenal sit in second place at the time of writing with four wins from five; however a damaging 3-0 defeat at Brighton on their last fixture took the shine off their otherwise strong start to the campaign.

Talking of Brighton, they’re off to a flyer this season with Fabian Hurzeler’s side winning three of their five games and sitting third place in the table after the first International Break. With Pascal Gross pulling the strings in midfield and Brian Brobbey already with a hat-trick to his name this term, perhaps they can push on and seriously contend for a European spot this season.

In the slipstream both Liverpool and Everton were unbeaten through their first five matches with identical 2-3-0 records, but both Merseyside clubs will need to convert draws into wins if they’re going to challenge at the top end of the table this term.

Promoted teams Hull and Ipswich have both picked up two valuable wins each to put them comfortably in mid-table, with only Coventry struggling despite picking up a win over Nottingham Forest before the break. It’s Spurs and Fulham though who occupy the other relegation places alongside the Sky Blues, with both London clubs winless from their opening five matches.

Betfred will, as ever, have a multitude of outright and individual match markets available for betting upon as the action continues in the early autumn here in England.

Gameweek 6 fixtures are as follows:

Saturday 10th October:

  • Arsenal vs Leeds
  • Aston Villa vs Brentford
  • Chelsea vs Bournemouth
  • Ipswich vs Fulham
  • Sunderland vs Brighton
  • Manchester United vs Tottenham

Sunday 11th October:

  • Crystal Palace vs Nottingham Forest
  • Hull vs Everton
  • Liverpool vs Manchester City

Monday 12th October:

  • Coventry vs Newcastle
