What can I use the Betfred new customer offer on this weekend?

This weekend sees Premier League action including Aston Villa vs Manchester United and a full EFL programme, the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe from Longchamp, NFL American Football, plus UFC 307 from Salt Lake City – all from Friday 4th October through till Monday 7th October.

This weekend sees Gameweek 7 of the Premier League season with 4 televised matches across TNT Sports & Sky Sports. The English football starts on Friday night on Sky Sports featuring the EFL Championship at 8pm with Sunderland vs Leeds United at the Stadium of Light. Sunderland are top of the league facing Leeds United who after a midweek draw at Norwich sit in the play-off places after 8 games. Sunderland won the corresponding match in December last season 1-0 in front of 40,000 fans.

The Premier League television action kicks-off on Saturday. 12:30pm sees TNT Sports coverage of Crystal Palace vs Liverpool from Selhurst Park. Crystal Palace will be looking to bounce back from a 2-1 defeat to Everton at Goodison Park last Saturday but couldn’t face tougher opposition as Arne Slot and Liverpool arrive in SE25. Liverpool are top of the Premier League after 7 matches and have a superb record at Selhurst Park, where they last lost in the Premier League way back in 2014.

Later on Saturday sees Everton face Newcastle at Goodison Park on Sky Sports at 5:30pm. Everton’s win last Saturday lifted them out of the bottom 3 for the first time this season, and with renewed optimism around Goodison you could see Sean Dyche’s side giving Newcastle plenty of problems. The Magpies lost their last away game 3-1 at Fulham a fortnight ago, but will take huge positive energy from their 1-1 draw with Premier League champions Manchester City last Saturday.

Sunday sees an early Scottish Premiership match on Sky Sports as Ross County take on Celtic at 12pm. Celtic were hammered 7-1 in midweek by Borussia Dortmund in Europe and will no doubt be looking to bounce back with a statement against a Ross County side who were only beaten by fellow Scottish Premiership pace-setters Aberdeen 1-0 here at The Global Energy Stadium in August. That’s followed at 2pm on Sky Sports by the biggest game of the weekend in the Premier League as Aston Villa face Manchester United from Villa Park. Villa will be buoyant after their midweek European win over Bayern Munich and will be looking forward to playing a United side who are under pressure after Premier League defeats to Brighton, Liverpool and Tottenham already this season.

Brighton vs Tottenham is the final Premier League game of the weekend live from the American Express Stadium on Sky Sports Main Event / Football at 4:30pm. Brighton are unbeaten at home so far in their opening 3 matches at The AMEX, but 2 of those games resulted in draws against Ipswich Town and Nottingham Forest. Tottenham travelled to Old Trafford last Sunday and defeated Manchester United 3-0 in a dominant performance. Both teams are packed full of goals so Both Teams to Score is sure to be a popular bet on this Sky Sports Super Sunday match.

EFL Championship, League 1 and League 2 are also in action on Saturday afternoon with lots of these games available via Sky Sports+.

  • Saturday Championship fixtures: Burnley vs Preston, Norwich City vs Hull, Portsmouth vs Oxford, Coventry vs Sheffield Wednesday, Derby vs QPR, Plymouth vs Blackburn, Sheffield United vs Luton, Swansea vs Stoke, Watford vs Middlesbrough, West Brom vs Millwall.
  • Saturday League 1 fixtures: Huddersfield vs Barnsley, Peterborough vs Stevenage, Bolton vs Shrewsbury, Burton Albion vs Bristol Rovers, Charlton vs Birmingham City, Exeter vs Cambridge, Lincoln City vs Leyton Orient, Mansfield vs Blackpool, Rotherham vs Reading, Stockport vs Wigan, Wrexham vs Northampton, Wycombe vs Crawley.
  • Saturday League 2 fixtures: Fleetwood vs Bromley, Grimsby vs Doncaster, Accrington Stanley vs Morecambe, Barrow vs Cheltenham, Chesterfield vs Walsall, Colchester vs Carlisle, Crewe vs Gillingham, MK Dons vs Tranmere, Notts County vs Port Vale, Salford City vs AFC Wimbledon, Swindon vs Harrogate.

Monday 7th October sees EFL League 2 action live on Sky Sports Football with an 8pm kick-off. Bradford City – arguably the biggest club in League 2 – play Newport County at Valley Parade. The Welsh side are going well in League 2 under Graham Coughlan, with experienced midfielder Aaron Wildig scoring goals from midfield, and County are just outside of the play-off spots. Meanwhile Bradford City under Graham Alexander are under pressure, having not won in League 2 in their past 4 matches. Bradford won the corresponding fixture last season 4-1.

It’s a double helping of ITV Racing this weekend with racing from Ascot and Newmarket on Saturday 5th October plus the Prix De L’Arc de Triomphe meeting from Longchamp on Sunday 6th October – both on ITV1. The Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe is the richest race in Europe with £2,484,348 going to the winning connections. The international nature of the Prix De L’Arc can be seen within the top 4 runners in the betting market, with French trainers Carlos & Yann Lerner and Andre Fabre putting forward the home nation’s best chances, whilst Aidan O’Brien and Yoshito Yahagi send over top runners from Ireland and Japan respectively. Look De Vega (Lerner), Sosie (Fabre), Los Angeles (O’Brien) and Shin Emperor (Yahagi) head the betting, whilst British hopes look best served by Bluestocking who Ralph Beckett sends over from his Kimpton Down Stables in Hampshire.

Saturday’s action is live on ITV1 with Newmarket featuring Group 1 action. The Sun Chariot Stakes (2:40pm) over the rolling mile sees Inspiral (Robert Havlin), Tamfana (Colin Keane) and Nashwa (Hollie Doyle) head the betting with £156,000 going to the winner. Meanwhile in Berkshire, the 3:35pm Challenge Cup at Ascot is a 7 furlong handicap with £93,000 available for winning connections. As with most Handicaps the betting is wide open with Fresh (Daniel Tudhope), Qirat (Hector Crouch) and Volterra (Shane Gray) all squabbling over favouritism.

Weekend horse racing fixtures across the UK and Ireland are:

  • Friday 4th October: Ascot, Dundalk, Fontwell (Jumps), Gowran Park, Hexham (Jumps), Newcastle.
  • Saturday 5th October: Ascot, Curragh, Gowran Park, Newmarket, Redcar, Southwell, Wolverhampton.
  • Sunday 6th October: Kelso (Jumps), Killarney, Tipperary, Uttoxeter (Jumps).
  • Monday 7th October: Fairyhouse, Killarney, Pontefract, Stratford (Jumps), Wolverhampton, Yarmouth.

Case Study: Why I Signed Up With Betfred By Steve Bamford

Betfred have become one of my most popular online bookmakers to place bets with and I can’t be the only one, as they are now bigger in the United Kingdom than the likes of Betfair, Paddy Power and William Hill. The rise of Betfred makes plenty of sense once you are an engaged customer, as their new customer offer is generous in tandem with their ongoing promotions which drive my loyalty.

As with most new customers, I was attracted by Betfred’s new customer offer at the time which involved free bets after a qualifying bet had been placed. The free bets were delivered as promised and as I deposited cash into my new account for the first time via a debit card registered to me, I had no problems whatsoever having to send documentation etc.

From a betting perspective, I use Betfred mainly for football, golf and MMA betting . The bookmaker who brought you Double Delight and Hat-trick Heaven football promotions, I take advantage of their ACCA promotion where you get paid a bonus in cash (not free bets). Betfred are also great for golf betting on the basis they have stand-out odds on players plus have multiple options I can select in terms of the number of each-way places I want to take on a player.

At the end of the day you only continue to use a bookmaker which offers ongoing value and up until now I’ve found that with Betfred.

Betfred Maximum Payout

Maximum payout ceilings are critical when selecting an online bookmaker to place bets with. Each and every bookmaker has daily payout limits within their terms of business. Some are extremely generous with others significantly lower, and be in no doubt – a bookmaker will not pay any winnings higher than their daily maximum payout ceiling. To add a level of complexity, those levels vary by sport and naturally can impact on large payouts especially via accumulator bets.

From a maximum payout perspective, Betfred are far better than many UK-facing online bookmakers when it comes to daily payout limits. Competitive on football, Betfred right now are equal to anyone in the market for horse racing and golf, which are the second and third biggest sports bet on here.

Here’s a summary of some key sports and Betfred’s maximum payouts compared with some others in the market:

SportBetfred Max PayoutWorst Max Payout
UEFA Champions League£1,000,000£250,000 888 Sport
English Premier League£1,000,000£250,000 888 Sport
UK Horse Racing£1,000,000£100,000 Unibet

ATP Tennis£100,000£75,000 Unibet
Darts£100,000£25,000 Betfair Sportsbook

Double Delight & Hat-Trick Heaven

Double Delight & Hat-Trick Heaven is the original first goalscorer offer which has stood the test of time. One of the cornerstones of Betfred’s modern day online expansion has been Double Delight and Hat-Trick Heaven. If your first goalscorer selection goes on to score subsequent goals in the match, Betfred will give you an additional odds boost. A second goal doubles your first scorer odds and a hat-trick sees those odds tripled.

  1. Place a pre-match single bet on the first goalscorer market in any of the specified Double Delight & Hat-Trick Heaven games.
  2. Wait for your player to score and if they score a second you’ll get paid out at double the odds.
  3. If they score a third, have your first goalscorer bet paid out at treble the odds in cash.

2024 Sporting Calendar – Betfred Coverage

2024 promises to be a huge year for sport with a whole host of major events to enjoy and, as ever, Betfred will have every angle covered. Once the customary Christmas tradition that is the World Darts has finished, snooker takes the lead with its iconic Masters tournament which begins on the 7th January.

As usual, tennis fans have the 4 Grand Slams to get their teeth into, beginning with the Australian Open on January 14th, followed by the French Open in May, Wimbledon in June, and the US Open in late August.

Likewise, golf fans see their Majors season kick off, as is tradition, in April with The Masters at Augusta National. The PGA Championship ventures to Valhalla in 2024, with Pinehurst the venue once again for the US Open in June. Then, to complete the set, The Open Championship returns to Royal Troon on the 18th of July for 4 days of the very best links golf on the Ayrshire coast.

In terms of cricket, it’s the shorter format that takes centre stage in 2024 with the ICC World T20 the main international competition, starting on June 4th and being hosted this year in the West Indies and the USA.

Horse Racing fans have the Cheltenham Festival to look forward to in its regular calendar spot of mid-March, with the Grand National a week later than normal this year on the 13th of April. Betfred History

From humble Salford beginnings in 1967, through astute promotions and estate purchases, Fred and Peter Done have built Betfred into the biggest independent retail bookmaker globally. That is some feat with Betfred now becoming the 4th largest bookmaker in the United Kingdom and a major employer with over 10,000 staff. A footprint of over 1,650 licensed betting shops is not to be sniffed at, but the story of Betfred – who saw its 50th anniversary in 2017 – highlights a heritage that undoubtedly has its roots firmly in the north-west of England. From 2 humble shops in Salford by 1969, the Done brothers had organically grown their business to 100 shops by 1997. However Fred Done, the figurehead of the modern-day Betfred, realised that the business needed to spread its wings from its Manchester area focus, so purchases of 5 shops in Newcastle and the Demmy chain of shops in 1998 for £10 million was the catalyst for bigger things. Throughout the noughties expansion was fast and came in the form of a new brand, TV advertising, shop expansion and Betfred.com which was launched in 2004.

Recent history is interesting as Betfred is now has the third biggest betting shop estate behind Ladbrokes Coral and William Hill. The self-proclaimed “Bonus King” had developed its shop network to well over 800 shops before it purchased the Tote for £265 million in 2011. Fred Done brokered the deal personally with the UK Government and it covered all Tote locations across the UK both on-track and their retail outlets. 2016 saw Betfred take advantage of market conditions again. The merger of Ladbrokes and Coral became an opportunity when the Competition & Markets Authority announced that the new group would need to sell 10% of its shop network before receiving the green light. Ever the opportunist, Fred Done moved quickly to snap up 322 stores for £55 million – therefore expanding Betfred’s High Street presence by 25%.

Betfred.com has been in existence since 2004 and operates under the guise of Petfre Limited, a business based and ostensibly licensed in Gibraltar. It’s a huge area of opportunity as until now Betfred trail the likes of High Street competitors William Hill, Ladbrokes and Coral online. With further store expansion unlikely moving forward, expect Betfred to focus their efforts on bringing their digital products to the forefront of their marketing mix and that can only mean good things for new and existing customers.

Betfred New Customer Offer Football – 2024 Season

The fixtures have been published for the 2024/25 Premier League season and football punters all across the world will be licking their lips in anticipation of what’s sure to be another exciting campaign.

Manchester City have been installed as the favourites with Betfred to win a fifth successive Premier League title and what would be an ninth overall since the EPL was formed in 1992.

With Erling Haaland proving an unstoppable force again last season, ably supported by the likes of Kevin de Bruyne, Jack Grealish and Phil Foden to mention but a few, it will take an incredible effort for any other team to step in their way. Yet plenty of sage punters think that this could be Arsenal’s year and the Gunners have been well backed as they look to end City’s dominance.

The fight for the title, Champions League spots and European football will be fierce, however at the other end of the table there will be a titanic battle for Premier League survival.

Leicester, Ipswich and Southampton are the newly promoted teams, with the Tractor Boys enjoying a meteoric rise back up the leagues under the management of Kieran McKenna, however all three are amongst the favourites for relegation. Yet with the likes of Bournemouth, Nottingham Forest, Wolves and even Everton not assured of safety, it will be fascinating to see how the 2024/25 EPL season unfolds.

Betfred will, as ever, have a multitude of outright and individual match markets available for betting upon as the action continues through the early part of the season.

Gameweek 7 fixtures are as follows:

Saturday 5th October

  • Crystal Palace vs Liverpool
  • Arsenal vs Southampton
  • Brentford vs Wolves
  • Leicester vs Bournemouth
